About

The Cantare Chorale was formed under the direction of the late Donald Stiemke by a group of South Milwaukee High School choir alumni who wanted to continue singing in a public setting.

From a primarily south side membership, Cantare Chorale today has 40 to 50 members from all parts of Greater Milwaukee.  The group's repertoire includes a variety of music, both sacred and secular.

The group presents annual December and May concerts are with additional performances scheduled as opportunities arise, such as the National Anthem at Milwaukee Wave and Milwaukee Bucks games. Local venues have included the South Milwaukee Performing Arts Center, the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts, the Humphrey Scottish Rite Cathedral, Martin Luther Lutheran Church, and the Cousins Center.
